Abstract:In this paper,a novel revised fast distributed dynamic wavelength assignment algorithm for optical path setup has been presented.Through adopting two new optical link and wavelength release mechanism,this algorithm can reduced the blocking probability significantly and is more suitable to the practical application in wavelength routing networks.The effectiveness of the algorithm is verified through the simulation of NSF Net model.After compared with the results in previous work,it shows that the revised algorithm can realize 8% reduction in network blocking probability and has made a reat improvement on reducing optical path setup time.
