Abstract:A simulation model of the temperatur field distribution of the laser diodes was presented for designing multeple-beam atmospheric laser communication(MALC) system.A numerical simulation,using the thermal analysis software FLUENT,was performed to gain the distribution of the temperature field of the LDs.The results show that wind cooling can keep the maximum temperature in the transmitter is lower than the maximum temperature for the LDs operating safely when the fluid velocity is no less than 5 m/s.Wing cooling can be selected as an effective cooling method for the MALC system.
