Abstract:The Alexandrite laser tuned by a chromatic dispersion prism was theoretically and experimentally studied. The gain and threshold characteristics in the range of tunable wavdengths of the laser were analyzed, and the structure of resonator and the transmissivity of the output mirror was optimized, In the experiment, a maximum output energy of 1 J with a tunable range of 725--781 nm were obtained. The imaging interference experiment of a linear CCD scanning array is with presented the Alexandrite laser at different output wavelengths and repeat frequency. The results showed that laser in this spectrum range could be applied to anti-guidance weapons and anti-reconnaissance with prospect.
